Four people were arrested following an evade police incident that resulted in police recovering a firearm.
Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on June 29, 2026, officers patrolling in the area of 8th Street East and Ewart Avenue observed a vehicle being driven erratically. Upon attempting a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and police disengaged. Further investigation determined that this same vehicle had been reported multiple times earlier in the day for erratic driving. Officers later observed the vehicle at Idylwyld Drive North and 29th Street; upon attempting another traffic stop, the vehicle again fled from police. A tire deflation device was successfully deployed and the vehicle came to a stop in the 1300 block of Alexandra Avenue where its four occupants were arrested. A search of the vehicle resulted in police locating and seizing a sawed-off shotgun.
As a result, two men, age 18 and 19, and two women, age 18 and 40, are facing an assortment of charges relating to weapons and evading police.
