A male youth has been arrested and faces charges in relation to a robbery late Saturday night.

On July 4, 2026 at around 11:30 p.m., police were called to the 400 block of 2nd Avenue South for a report of an unknown problem. It was reported that a female was being assaulted by someone with a metal pipe.

Police arrived on scene and located an 18-year-old woman with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital for further medical treatment. Through investigation, officers learned two women had been assaulted by a group of people during a robbery.

The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival, however, a 17-year-old male matching a suspect description was located and arrested shortly after.

As a result, the 17-year-old male has been charged with Robbery (x2) and Breaching Court-Imposed Conditions.
