One man is facing a charge for Refusal to Comply with a Demand following an incident where a vehicle was driven into the patio of a business on Sunday night.

On August 2, 2026 at around 8:35 p.m., police were called to a business in the 1800 block of McOrmond Drive for a motor vehicle collision where a vehicle had driven through a patio and hit the building.

Officers arrived on scene and observed the vehicle inside the patio. No one on the patio was physically injured as a result of the collision. Officers approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver and observed signs of impairment, including an empty bottle of alcohol inside the vehicle.

After being transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, the 44-year-old driver refused to comply with further impairment testing. He was subsequently charged with Refusal to Comply with a Demand.
