Saskatoon Police arrested one woman in relation to an incident involving a knife during a cab ride early this morning.

On August 18, 2026 at approximately 12:40 a.m., police were called to the 1400 block of Idylwyld Drive North for a weapons call where it was reported that a male cab driver had a knife and attempted to stab a woman. Police also received a call for service that outlined a woman had pulled a knife on a cab driver.

Arriving officers located a man and woman standing outside of a cab. Through their investigation, officers learned the man had given the woman a ride and upon the conclusion of the ride, the woman grabbed the man’s phone charger. The man exited the cab to retrieve his charger when the woman pulled out a knife and threw it at him.

The 21-year-old woman was arrested on scene without further incident. She has been charged with:

• Possession of a Weapon;
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon;
• Assault with a Weapon; and
• Breach of Court-Imposed Conditions.

She is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on August 18, 2026.
