A man and woman have been charged after assaulting two police officers yesterday evening.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., August 25, 2026, patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of 20th Street West to arrest a man in connection to an assault from earlier in August. When police arrived, the suspect physically resisted by punching one officer and encouraged a female bystander to help him when she kicked another officer. Officers deployed a conducted energy weapon and took the man into custody.

A 40-year-old man is charged with Assault Police Officer, Resist Arrest and Impersonation (Court Info # 991349487). A 30-year-old woman is charged with Assault Police Officer (Court Info # 991349485).
