Three people were arrested following the conclusion of an investigation by the Crime Reduction Team.
At around 9:30 p.m. on September 5, 2026, members of the Crime Reduction Team, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, initiated enforcement action in a drug trafficking investigation while in the area of the Borden Bridge on Highway 16; two men, age 43 and 30, and one 24-year-old woman were arrested without incident. As a result of continued investigation, the following evidentiary seizures were made;
- 23 litres of GHB
- 0.3 grams of methamphetamine
- 2.0 grams of cocaine
- 6.3 grams of MDMA
- 32.2 grams of shatter
- 4x oxycodone pills
- 85x BTB Bupropion Hydrochloride pills
- Sawed-off .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle (prohibited)
- Ammunition
- Hatchet
- $251 CAD
As a result, all three of the accused are facing a combination of drug- and weapons-related charges. The 43-year-old man was also wanted Canada-wide for being unlawfully at large and the 24-year-old woman was found to have a warrant for breaching a release order.
