A man on a Canada-wide driving prohibition is facing charges following an evade police incident last night.
Just before midnight on September 13, 2026, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Diefenbaker Drive and 22nd Street West. The vehicle came to a stop but as officers approached, it began to drive away at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle continued to evade police before eventually being located unoccupied behind a residence on Miyowahkohtowin Road. Officers were able to search the residence where the driver was located and arrested without further incident.
Through their investigation, officers also learned that the driver had a Canada-wide driving prohibition.
As a result, the 32-year-old man has been charged with Dangerous Driving, Evading Police and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Prohibited. The vehicle was also impounded for thirty days.
