A male youth has been arrested and a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following an aggravated assault Saturday morning.

At approximately 6:40 a.m. on September 19, 2026. Police were called to the 300 block of Hamm Way for a disturbance where it was reported that it sounded like someone was being assaulted in a basement suite.

Upon police arrival, officers located two females and a male youth attempting to leave the residence. Officers also located a 26-year-old man who was transported to hospital by paramedics for what were believed to be serious injuries. The victim and suspect are believed to be known to each other.

A 16-year-old male youth was arrested in relation to this incident and has been charged with Aggravated Assault.

Members of the Serious Assault Unit continue to investigate.
