Three people have been arrested following the conclusion of an investigation by the Guns and Gangs Unit.
On January 1, 2026, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit and Patrol, initiated enforcement action at a residence in the 1300 block of Idylwyld Drive North as part of a drug trafficking and firearms investigation. Following the execution of a search warrant, a 41-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were arrested from within the residence and the following evidentiary seizures were made;
- Sawed-off Ruger .22 calibre rifle; loaded
- 98.37 grams of methamphetamine
- 43.43 grams of crack cocaine
- 30.12 grams of cocaine
- 12.39 grams of fentanyl
- 12 capsules of hydromorphone
- $436.85 CAD
As a result, 22 charges were laid in relation to drug trafficking, firearms, and possession of the proceeds of crime. A 50-year-old man who was also located inside the residence at the time of the search warrant was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property.
