One man was arrested following a collision with a police vehicle last night.

Shortly before 12:00 a.m. on October 2, 2026, members of the Tactical Support Unit were returning to the Saskatoon Police Service Headquarters when the unmarked police vehicle they were in was struck by a civilian vehicle in the intersection of Idylwyld Drive North and 24th Street East. The police vehicle was proceeding through a green light and did not have any emergency equipment activated at the time of the collision.

Through continued investigation, it was believed the driver of the civilian vehicle was under the influence of an intoxicant. Following an impaired driving investigation, the 20-year-old male driver was charged with Impaired Driving and Exceeding .08. There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision.
