A man is facing charges after he was found in possession of a firearm on Saturday night.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., October 17, 2026, it was reported that a man was seen running with a firearm in the area of 18th Street West and Avenue X South. Upon police arrival, patrol officers observed a man matching the suspect description in possession of a firearm. They were able to take the individual into custody without incident and seized a sawed off rifle as well as bear spray.

The 31-year-old is charged with:

• Careless Use of a Firearm;
• Point Firearm;
• Possession of a Dangerous Weapon;
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon;
• Unauthorized Possession of Firearm;
• Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order (x2); and
• Possession of Identity Documents.
