Police are investigating following a shooting this morning.

Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on October 23, 2026, police were called to the area of 17th Street West and Avenue S South for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, officers learned that the two male victims were approached by a group of three unknown men who demanded their property. When the victims refused, one of the suspects produced a firearm and shot one of the victims before fleeing the area. The injured victim was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of what was believed to be a non-life-threatening injury.

The Serious Assault Unit is continuing to investigate.
