A man is facing charges after fleeing from police on Friday night.

Shortly after 11:00 p.m., October 23, 2026, police were responding to a report of a stolen vehicle when they observed it in a parking lot in the 2500 block of 22nd Street West. The suspect initially complied with officer direction to exit the vehicle, however then re-entered the vehicle and fled. A tire deflation device was successful and the vehicle came to a stop in another parking lot on 22nd Street, near Avenue I North.

The suspect was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant.

The 20-year-old is charged with:

• Theft of Motor Vehicle;
• Escape Lawful Custody;
• Evade Police;
• Refusal; and
• Breach of Court-Imposed Conditions.
