Two men were arrested following an evade police incident on Friday night.
At around 10:15 p.m. on February 20, 2026, officers observed a vehicle driving without lights in the 900 block of 22nd Street West. Upon attempting a traffic stop, the vehicle began to evade at a high rate of speed. A tire deflation device was successfully deployed in the area of Avenue P North and 23rd Street West; however, the vehicle continued to evade police. A police vehicle was later used to immobilize the suspect vehicle on Circle Drive near Clancy Drive, allowing police to arrest its occupants without further incident. Following a search of a passenger, a knife was located on their person.
As a result, the 27-year-old male driver has been charged with evading police and dangerous driving while the 29-year-old male passenger was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
