Project Repeat - Drug Trafficking Investigation - Cash, Cocaine Seized

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit have concluded Project Repeat; a four-week investigation into the repeat drug trafficking activities of 25-year-old Andrew Karamat of Saskatoon.

On September 25, 2023, Andrew Karamat was arrested without incident in the area of McKercher Drive and 105th Street East following a vehicle stop. He was found to be in possession of one kilogram of cocaine in brick form. Shortly after, members of the RCMP conducted a vehicle stop near Kindersley and effected the arrest of 32-year-old Ivan Nario of Calgary, AB. He is believed to have met with Karamat earlier that day for the purpose of a drug transaction and was found to be in possession of one kilogram of cocaine in brick form and more than 82,000 in cash.

Two search warrants were then executed at addresses in the 900 block of Wilkins Court and 400 block of Bronson Crescent resulting in the additional arrest of 30-year-old Sinita Sparvier of Saskatoon and the following evidentiary seizures;

  • 6.59 kilograms of cocaine in brick form
  • $272,450 CAD
  • 44 cartons of illegal cigarettes
  • 30-round Glock magazine
  • 2016 Dodge Durango
  • 2019 GMC Sierra
  • 2019 Honda Civic
  • Luxury watches, bags, shoes, clothing

As a result of Project Repeat, Andrew Karamat, Ivan Nario, and Sinita Sparvier are all facing charges relating to drug trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime. Karamat is also facing charges for breaching court-imposed conditions and possessing a prohibited device. He was previously charged by the Saskatoon Police Service Drug Unit in 2021 for various drug trafficking offences following Project Octane; an inter-provincial investigation targeting high-level drug traffickers. Karamat remains before the courts in relation.
