Alarm System Permits

In Saskatoon, residential and commercial site owners do not need to apply for a security alarm permit; it is the responsibility of the alarm company. To obtain a permit, alarm companies must contact the SPS Alarm Coordinator at 306-975-3585.

City of Saskatoon Bylaw No 7604.

The bylaw states alarm companies will obtain a permit number for the sites that they install alarm systems in. It is the responsibility of the alarm company, not the site owner, to apply for the permit.

With a permit, the site is allowed two free false alarms in 365 days. If the site exceeds two free false alarms, or there is no permit assigned, the alarm company will be directed to call a 900-phone line.

All invoicing is issued to the alarm company.
