Crime Free Multi-Housing
Duties:
- Creates and distributes information materials that promote Crime Free Multi-Housing (CFMH) and identify how people can become involved.
- Hosts training workshops by preparing training materials, coordinating workshop logistics, recruiting participants and instructors, conducting workshop evaluations and tracking attendance and updating database information.
- Provides ongoing support to property owners and managers by addressing concerns related to criminal activity, while maintaining constructive relationships.
- Provides information to Police and other civic officials about CFMH and their role in the initiative. Encourages resident, renter and property management staff participation in CFMH Community Events, held at participating properties.
- Provides information to residents about crime prevention strategies, tenant rights and responsibilities, and other health and safety topics. Educates citizens about how to engage effectively with Police. Coordinates participation of Fire and Protective Services, Police and the Saskatoon Health Region.
- Shares incident reports with participating CFMH property staff in accordance with provisions under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Monitors the status of participating CFMH properties with respect to updates and security improvements made. Works with staff to accomplish CFMH certification.
- Coordinates Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) inspection audits for participating CFMH properties. Monitors the status of the follow-up when property managers address security deficiencies.
- Provides direction, assigns tasks and, allocates and monitors work of the Crime Free Multi-Housing Assistant Coordinator.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree in public administration, communications, adult education or a related field.
- Three years’ experience in social programming and policy development or the criminal justice system.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
- Thorough knowledge of program marketing and public relations.
- Considerable knowledge of research techniques, methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of crime prevention programs, community development principles and practices, community oriented policing, landlord tenant laws and property management principles.
- Knowledge of the CPTED principles.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and provide relevant and engaging training seminars and workshops. Ability to prepare publications, design brochures, displays and visual aids.
- Ability to pass the Saskatoon Police Service security clearance process.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Salary:
$78,705.84 to $86,773.68 per annum (2025 rates)
