Crime Free Multi-Housing Assistant Coordinator

Duties:

1. Conducts Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) audits for participating CFMH properties.  Monitors the status of any follow-up needed by property managers to successfully gain certification.
2. Presents and distributes information materials related to CFMH and rental apartment safety and security, crime prevention strategies, tenant rights and responsibilities and other health and safety topics.
3. Assists in the monitoring of certification requirements including scheduling and planning of annual Safety Socials held at participating properties, CPTED building audits and training seminars.
4. Acts as a liaison between the Police Service, other agencies and the rental property community, develops partnerships and facilitates communication related to rental apartment safety and security.
5. Identifies occurrence reports at participating CFMH properties for communication to landlords as evidence by Police in accordance with provisions under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
6. Assists with the preparation of landlord training seminars by preparing training materials, coordinating workshop logistics, recruiting participants and instructors, conducting workshop evaluations and tracking attendance and intentions regarding certification. Assists with ongoing training support to property owners and managers.
7. Performs the duties of the CFMH Coordinator as required.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

• Graduation from a recognized two year, post secondary program in public relations, communications or adult education.
• Successful completion of a CPTED training course.
• Two years’ experience in public relations, communications and/or program development.
• Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s licence.
• Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
• Knowledge of crime prevention programs, community development principles and practices, landlord tenant laws and property management principles.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct building inspections.
• Demonstrated ability to provide training seminars and workshops.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement various programs and projects.
• Ability to pass the Saskatoon Police Service security clearance process.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Salary:

$62,488.08 to $68,892.72 per annum (2025 rates)
