Operational Support Bureau
Duties:
- Provides confidential administrative executive support to the Operational Support Bureau Superintendent and Division Inspectors, including coordinating and scheduling appointments and meetings.
- Receives and determines the nature and priority of, inquiries made in person, by telephone, mail or e-mail. Responds to inquiries, when appropriate, and directs inquiries to appropriate parties, if required.
- Prepares and edits correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents as needed.
- Maintains daily calendar for the Superintendent, including entering information into their calendars for upcoming events, screening and entering appointments and providing key information into the calendar.
- Coordinates packages for presentation to the Board of Police Commissioners, the Saskatchewan Police Commission and various committees. Ensures minutes are kept and organized and follows up on action items from the meetings.
- Provides administrative support to various operational activities within the Bureau, including preparation and management of operations reports and documents and ensuring an efficient flow of information.
- Schedules travel arrangements for the Superintendent and Inspectors, including entering confirmation information into the calendar. Organizes registration for conferences and prepares travel requisitions.
- Provides relief administrative support to the Office of the Chief of Police, if required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a recognized business college.
- Two to four years’ diversified office experience.
- Typing speed of 55 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of modern office procedures and business English.
- Ability to deal with confidential material in a professional manner, complying with the Saskatoon Police Service access and privacy policies.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities and organize own workload in a multi-task environment.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and remain organized with a high degree of speed and accuracy.
- Ability to anticipate needs, identify potential issues and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with police staff and executive, government officials and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Skill in the operation of a computer with Microsoft Office and database software.
- Ability to pass the Saskatoon Police Service security clearance process.
Salary:
$57,815.04 to $67,932.00 per annum (2025 rates)
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM
