A 33-year-old Saskatoon man, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for Breach of Parole, is now facing charges following an incident in which the driver of a stolen vehicle refused to stop for Police.
At approximately 3:34 p.m. on March 12th 2020, a Patrol officer observed a Grey Ford Escape, known to be stolen, in the area of Lorne Ave and Ruth Street. The officer followed the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop at Idylwyld Drive and 20th Street west, however, the vehicle did not stop and a tire deflation device was used.
The vehicle continued northbound on Idylwyld Drive, before making a westbound turn onto 22nd Street and continuing in the oncoming driving lanes. Prior to coming to a stop on 22nd street and Ave I North, the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle traveling on 22nd Street. There were no injuries as a result.
Two men were arrested from the vehicle without further incident. A 28-year-old Saskatoon man was taken into custody but was later released on scene.
The 33-year-old male has also been charged with: Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Evade Police, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
