A 28 year old male is in Police custody after threatening a Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) with a knife.

On March 16th, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Police attended to a business in the 1700 block of Preston Ave. N. for a report of a LPO who was attempting to arrest a male. The male suspect fled prior to Police arrival.

The suspect was spotted running by responding patrol officers and with the assistance of the Canine Unit the male was taken into custody. The male has been charged with Theft Under $5000, Assault with a weapon, resisting arrest, weapon dangerous to public, carry concealed weapon, and failing to comply with a court order. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant

The male is expected to appear in Provincial Court the morning of March 17th, 2020.
