Police are investigating four fires that took place in Central Division yesterday.
The first fire was reported at approximately 7:30 a.m., March 17, 2020. Members attended to the 400 block of Avenue P South and found a garbage can and trash on fire on the ground in an alley. Officers then attended to the 200 block of Avenue U South at 8:20 a.m. A dumpster fire was located in an alley and extinguished.
Later that evening, at 7:50 p.m., emergency crews responded to a dumpster fire in an alley in the 1400 block of 20th Street West. Minutes later, at 8:00 p.m., another fire was reported in the 1300 block of 20th Street West. A mattress was on fire in between two detached garages in an alley. Both garages were on fire when crews arrived.
No one was injured in the fires and no suspects were located. The investigation is continuing.
