Two people are facing charges following an investigation by the SPS Drug Unit.

As a result of an investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine, Detectives with the Drug Unit, with the assistance of Patrol, conducted two traffic stops at 33rd Street and Edmonton Avenue and executed a search warrant at a residence in the 10 block of Rupert Drive at approximately 9:30 p.m., March 18, 2020. A woman was arrested from the traffic stop and a man was arrested from the residence on Rupert Drive.

As a result of the vehicle stops, Police located a sawed-off shotgun and three rounds of ammunition. As a result of the execution of the search warrant, investigators located a further two sawed-off shotguns, ammunition and scales.

A total of 13 firearms-related charges were laid against the 47-year-old man and 41-year-old female. Two others were arrested from the vehicle stops but released without charges.
