A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged following a traffic stop in which he was found in possession of a firearm earlier this morning.

Shortly after 2:00 a.m., March 19, 2020, Police conducted a traffic stop at 33rd Street and Avenue B. A male in the backseat was arrested by the Guns and Gangs Unit and found to be in possession of a firearm that he attempted to conceal from officers by hiding under the seat.

The 25-year-old is charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (x2), Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized. Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle and Possession Contrary to Order. (Court Info # 991124941)
