Traffic Advisory - Motorists Urged To Follow School Zone Traffic Laws

With school cancelled and the return of warmer weather, the Saskatoon Police Service is asking the public to adhere to school zone traffic laws as children and caregivers will be making use of playground equipment.

School zones remain in effect as per the Traffic Bylaw. The bylaw mandates a speed limit of 30 km/h from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, during the months of September through June inclusive. In addition to the reduced speed, U-turns are prohibited in school zones, and all other traffic safety laws remain in effect. There is no exception in the bylaw for statutory holidays occurring on weekdays from September through June.
