Three people were arrested early this morning after they refused to stop for RCMP members and entered Saskatoon city limits.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., March 25, 2020, Police were notified by the RCMP that two stolen vehicles were travelling toward Saskatoon and refused to stop for RCMP members. The Air Support Unit was able to locate the vehicles and observed one as it was involved in a collision as it exited Circle Drive onto Clarence Avenue. One man attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by Patrol officers. He was found in possession of small quantity of methamphetamine and a knife. The 23-year-old man is facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Evade Police, Dangerous Driving, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Carrying Concealed Weapon and Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. The Air Support Unit was able to direct ground units to the second vehicle which came to a stop in the 600 block of Hopkins Avenue where two people were observed exiting the vehicle and fleeing to a nearby residence in the 2600 block of Dufferin Avenue. The suspects refused Police commands to exit the residence. A canine unit was successful in locating a woman who was found to be in possession of a digital scale, approximately 118 grams of methamphetamine packaged for distribution and 10 grams of suspected cocaine. A male was also located inside and taken into custody.
Further investigation confirmed that both vehicles were stolen. Police also seized two firearms from inside the vehicle on Hopkins Avenue.
The 20-year-old woman and 23-year-old man are facing over 25 charges relating to drug trafficking, firearms and possession of stolen property. (Court Info #'s: 991125372, 991125373, 991125371, 991125374)
