A Message From Chief Troy Cooper Regarding Public Health Order Education/Enforcement

The Saskatoon Police Service remains committed to ensuring public safety for the citizens of Saskatoon. That commitment now involves education and the enforcement of provincial public health orders regarding COVID-19.

The following is a message from Chief Troy Cooper, following the recent announcement by the Government regarding a dedicated enforcement line:

Since March 20, 2020 when Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Officer updated the public health order under the Public Health Act, the SPS has received 117 reports from members of the public concerned about non-compliance. Many of the reports concerned individuals who may not be following self-isolation guidelines. To date, the SPS has not issued any tickets in regard to this.
