Two people were arrested last night following an altercation on a City of Saskatoon transit bus.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., April 13, 2020, Saskatoon Police were dispatched to the intersection of 20th Street West and Avenue T South for a report of a stabbing. Four people had reportedly got into an altercation while they were passengers on the bus. Upon arrival, Patrol members observed two victims, a 38 year old male and a 32 year old female, suffering from serious but non-life threatening stab wounds. Medavie Health Services transported them to hospital.
Two suspects, a male and female, had fled the scene on foot. The Air Support Unit (ASU) observed two people nearby, believed to be the suspects. One suspect was observed attempting to hide underneath of a vehicle. Ground units were directed to the parked vehicle where the 14 year old female suspect was taken into custody without incident. The second suspect was observed by ASU attempting to hide in a backyard in the 100 block of Avenue S South. Patrol and Canine officers were directed to the location where the second suspect, a 21 year old male, was taken into custody without further incident. The suspects were believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant.
A 21 year old man is charged with Aggravated Assault (x2), Impersonation and Breach of Conditions. The 14 year old girl was released without charges.
