Two men are facing impaired driving charges following collisions this morning.

At approximately 5:45 a.m., April 14, 2020, an off-duty officer observed a collision at Ruth Street and Victoria Avenue. A 2016 black Jeep Wrangler had struck a parked vehicle, which caused collisions between two other parked vehicles. The officer observed a male driver exit the Jeep and begin to walk away, prior to the arrival of on-duty officers. Police located the driver who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol.

A 21 year old man is facing two charges relating to impaired driving.

Then at approximately 6:10 a.m., April 14, 2020, Patrol members were dispatched to a collision at Diefenbaker Drive and Douglas Crescent. The driver of a 2010 yellow Dodge Avenger had struck a light post and a parked vehicle, pushing it into a second parked vehicle. The driver, who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol exited the yellow car and was arrested without incident.

A 20 year old man was found to be a suspended driver and is now facing two charges relating to impaired driving.
