One man is facing more than 50 charges after being found in possession of drugs and weapons.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., April 9, 2020, Police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Arlington Avenue. Officers were made aware that a man in the area may be in possession of a firearm. Upon arrival, the suspect was located inside of a grey Ford F-150 and a traffic stop was conducted. An open bottle of liquor was located inside of the vehicle and the man was arrested without incident. In his possession, Police located two baggies of methamphetamine and cash. Following a search of the vehicle, officers located an axe, a sledgehammer, four knives, two sawed-off rifles, ammunition, baggies of meth and cocaine and further evidence relating to drug trafficking.
Search warrants were later executed at a residence in the 1000 block of Avenue H North and a storage locker in the 3900 block of Wanuskewin Road. Investigators with the Guns and Gangs Unit seized six more firearms, firearm parts, ammunition and further evidence of drug trafficking.
A 29 year old Saskatoon man is facing over 50 weapons and firearms-related offences. He is also charged with Trafficking Cocaine and Methamphetamine, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime, Uttering Threats, Breach of Undertaking and Breach of Conditions.
