A Saskatoon teen was arrested this morning following a break-in to a garage.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., April 15, 2020, Patrol officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Sears Cove for a report of a vehicle theft in progress. When they arrived in the area, Police observed the stolen black 2013 Nissan Rogue abandoned in the 100 block of Wright Crescent. A Canine Unit on route to the call, observed a male running from a park on Kenderdine Road near Kucey Crescent. Officers took the suspect into custody without incident. He was found in possession of a wallet belonging to the original complainant.
Investigations revealed that the male suspect had entered into an unlocked truck on a driveway. He used a garage door opener from the truck to enter the garage and steal the unlocked Nissan Rogue. The SPS wishes to remind the public to secure all property and remove any valuables from parked vehicles, including the keys.
A 17 year old male is charged with Break and Enter, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Theft Under $5000.
