Saskatoon Police are searching for one suspect following a multi-vehicle collision at 18th St. and Ave. K that occurred at approx. 12:18 a.m. April 20, 2020.
Just after midnight, officers were parked on 11th St. near Circle Drive when they observed a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on 11th St. West. They advised other units of this vehicle and a short time later another officer that was traveling westbound on 11th St. observed this truck traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. By the time the officer turned around, the vehicle had already lost control and struck a parked vehicle near 11th St. and Ave K. The officer then observed the vehicle go northbound on Ave. K. The officer lost sight of the vehicle and a short time later located it abandoned after it struck a parked truck and trailer in the 500 block of Ave K South. A K-9 track was successful in apprehending two females, ages 13 and 18 approx. two blocks away. One of the subjects was treated at scene by Medavie Ambulance for a minor injury as a result of the K-9 apprehension.
Police continue to search for a third suspect believed to be the driver. Recovered in the vehicle was a loaded 12 gauge sawed off shotgun.
