Weapons Investigation - 100 Block Avenue F South

The Saskatoon Police Service arrested a 47 year old man at approximately 9:30 this evening after a weapons investigation in a business in the 100 block of Av F S. The incident began at 4:49 p.m.

The male walked into the business with two large knives and threatened to stab people. Police responded and the man barricaded himself within the business and threatened to harm himself.

The Tactical Support Unit and Crisis Negotiation Team were dispatched. The man was arrested after a Conducted Energy Weapon was deployed. He was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services.

He has been charged with, Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, Threats to cause death or bodily harm, Mischief over $5000, Theft under $5000 and Failing to comply with a court order. He will go to court tomorrow.

The scene has been cleared and any restrictions should now be lifted.

Saskatoon Police are currently at the scene of a weapons call.

At approximately 4:50 p.m., April 27, 2020, Police received a report of a man armed with a knife inside a business in the 100 block of Avenue F South.
