A 15-year-old boy has been charged after he assaulted another youth yesterday afternoon in a park.
Shortly before 5:00 p.m., May 4, 2020, Patrol officers responded to a report of bear spray being deployed at someone in a park in the 3500 block of John A. MacDonald Road. Two male youth were reported to have fled. A patrol officer was able to quickly locate one of the suspects, and the Air Support Unit was able to locate the second and direct ground units to his location. Officers located bear spray in his backpack when he was arrested.
The 13-year-old victim was found to be suffering from the effects of bear spray but was otherwise not seriously injured.
The 15-year-old is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possession of Dangerous Weapon and Wearing Disguise with Intent. (Court Info # 991127654).
The second youth was released without charges.
