An investigation by the Guns and Gangs Unit has resulted in a number of people facing drug trafficking charges.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., May 8, 2020, Police observed a suspicious red Dodge Durango leave a residence in the 700 block of 5th Avenue North. A traffic stop was conducted at 26th Street East and Second Avenue North. The driver refused to exit the vehicle and instead, began rummaging through her purse. Police removed her from the vehicle and placed her under arrest. Insider her purse, officers located prepackaged methamphetamine and cannabis, along with a can of bear spray. Ammunition and more methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle with two other occupants.
Three women, ages 21, 30 and 28, are charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking. Other charges include Possession of Ammunition, Possession of the Proceeds of Crime under $5000 and Breach of Conditions.
On May 10, 2020, at 1:00 a.m., a search warrant was executed at an address in the 700 block of 5th Avenue North. Three women located in a detached garage, were taken into custody. Methamphetamine, a shotgun and ammunition was located on the property and seized.
Two women, ages 31 and 27, are facing numerous firearm-related offences. The third woman, a 26 year old, was released without charges.
Further charges are pending as the investigation continues.

On May 10, 2020, at approximately 1:00 am the Guns & Gangs Unit with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit executed a search warrant in the 700 block of 5th Ave North.
Members of the Guns & Gangs Unit remain on scene to complete the search warrant. Three people from inside the residence were taken into custody. There is no information about charges at this time and the investigation is continuing.
