Saskatoon Police and RCMP members combined their efforts to arrest a man after he refused to stop for Police on Saturday.
At approximately 4:20 p.m., May 16, 2020, Saskatoon Police received a report of a suspicious person in the area of Molland Lane. Patrol officers attended and observed the suspect in a grey Mercedes Benz C240 travelling eastbound on 22nd Street. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver conducted a U-turn in the ditch and fled the city westbound on 22nd Street. The Air Support Unit observed the vehicle and guided ground units to its location where the driver was arrested by RCMP members. A loaded zip-gun and various documents were located inside of the vehicle.
The 31 year old Saskatoon man was transported to SPS Detention and is facing eight firearms-related offences. He is also charged with Dangerous Driving, Evade Police, Possession of a Forged Document and Breach of Conditions.
