A 35 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges following an attempted traffic stop on the weekend.
At approximately 11:15 p.m., May 22, 2020, a member of the Traffic Unit attempted to stop a Mercedes Benz for a traffic infraction at Arlington Avenue and 8th Street East. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop for the officer and instead, fled a short distance before striking a fire hydrant and coming to a stop on the lawn of a residence on Clark Crescent. The male driver then fled the vehicle on foot. He was located minutes later, with assistance from the Air Support Unit, hiding in a nearby yard. A search of the car resulted in officers locating 12.8 grams of Cocaine and alcohol.
The man is now facing charges of Impaired Driving, Exceed .08, and Possession of Cocaine.
