A man is facing charges following a series of incidents yesterday morning.
Shortly after 8:00 a.m., May 27, 2020, Police received a call that a woman had been stabbed in a parking lot in the 500 block of Avenue X South. The suspect then stole the van she had been an occupant in before fleeing. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.
Then, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Police received another call that a man had assaulted another female and was attempted to enter her vehicle in the 200 block of Greenfield Crescent. The stolen van involved in the earlier assault was located abandoned on McKague Crescent. A canine track was successful in locating the suspect near the van. During his arrest, officers found him to be in possession of two knives.
The 44-year-old man is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of Dangerous Weapon, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Robbery, Mischief Under $5000, Obstruction, Impersonation, Breach of Release Order and Breach of Conditions. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants. (Court Info # 991129085, 991129086).
