The firearm that was pointed at an officer yesterday and later seized was a sawed-off rifle, not a shotgun as previously indicated.

Two men are facing charges after one of them pointed a firearm at a police officer during an incident earlier this morning.
At approximately 6:40 a.m., June 3, 2020, Patrol officers responded to a report of a group arguing outside of a residence in the 400 block of Hilliard Street when a firearm was observed. Upon Police arrival, several people were seen fleeing on foot. During a short foot pursuit, one of the males pointed a firearm at the Patrol officer. The officer was able to take cover for safety and eventually was successful in detaining the three individuals as additional officers arrived to assist in taking them into custody without further incident.
A sawed-off shotgun, ammunition and bear spray were seized. A photo is attached for distribution.
A 15-year-old male is facing 16 charges, the majority related to the possession of the firearm and ammunition. A 24-year-old man is facing two charges relating to possession of bear spray. They will appear before a Justice of the Peace this evening. A third person was released without charges.
