Four men are in custody today facing drug trafficking and firearms charges, following an investigation by the SPS Drug Unit.
On June 4, 2020, at approximately 2:10 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted in the 500 block of Avenue W South. Officers had observed activity consistent with drug trafficking. Members from the Tactical Support Unit and Patrol assisted with the vehicle stop. Four men were arrested without incident. Cocaine and cash was located inside of the vehicle.
Later in the evening, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 100 block of Clancy Drive. More cash was located and seized along with falsified identification documents, cell phones, scales and drug packaging. A loaded handgun and ammunition was also found during this search.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., a second search warrant was executed at a residence in the 2700 block of 7th Street East. Cash and cocaine was located and seized.
In total, SPS recovered 93 grams of cocaine and over $20,000 CAD.
A 27 year old man from Montreal, QC is facing 15 charges including Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Forged Documents and numerous firearms-related offences. He was also found to have a number of outstanding criminal code warrants from the Ottawa Police Service.
Two other men involved, ages 20 and 27, also from Montreal, are facing numerous charges including Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime over $5000.
A 42 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Possession of Cocaine.
