22 Year Old Charged - Impaired Driving Causing Death And Fail To Remain

Saskatoon Police Major Crimes have charged a 22 year old female with causing death while driving impaired by alcohol and failure to stop after, in relation to an incident this morning. At approximately 4:30 am, police and Medavie Health Services responded to a injured person in a parking lot in the 700 block of Appleby Drive. A 23 year old female victim had been hit by a vehicle and succumbed to her injuries at scene. The suspect was found a short time later at another location and was arrested.

SPS Major Crimes, Forensic Identification Services and Collision Analysts were called out to investigate. An autopsy is scheduled to occur later this week.

In consultation with the victim's family, they agreed to release her name. It is Kiona Nicotine.

Saskatoon Police and Medavie Health Services received a 911 call this morning at 4:30 am, of an injured person in a parking lot in the 700 block of Appleby Drive.  The victim had been hit by a vehicle and succumbed to their injuries at scene.  Another person, believed involved, is currently in police custody.

SPS Major Crimes, Forensic Identification Services and Collision Analysts have been called out to investigate and are currently on scene.  More information will be released as the investigation continues.
