Members of the Guns and Gangs Unit are investigating a shooting that occurred over the weekend.

At approximately 5:40 a.m, June 6, 2020, Police received a report of four men in possession of a firearm in the 600 block of Idylwyld Drive North. The witness reported that the men were running in a westbound direction. A responding officer soon located an injured male nearby. The man was transported to hospital for treatment for a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

He reported walking in the area when he was approached by four men who first asked him for a cigarette and then began assaulting him. As the victim attempted to flee he was shot. He was not able to provide a description of the suspects.
