The Saskatoon Police Communications section has seen a recent increase in the number of calls received about the Canada Revenue Agency scam.

Complainants advise they are being told they have warrants for their arrest for outstanding or unpaid taxes. In some cases, the fraudsters are spoofing 306 area code phone numbers in an effort to appear legitimate.

If you should receive a call similar in nature, the SPS recommends hanging up and reporting the call to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre: http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/index-eng.htm.
