A man is facing charges of assaulting police officers after they responded to a domestic disturbance yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., June 11, 2020, Police responded to a residence in the 1600 block of 37th Street West for a report of a domestic disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, Police encountered a man outside that was acting in an aggressive manner and believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant. Officers attempted to take the man into custody however he resisted arrest and attempted to strike the officers with a closed fist. The officers struggled to take the man into custody for several minutes, during which the man attempted to bite one of the officers. A conducted energy weapon was deployed, however was ineffective. Police were eventually able to take the man into custody and he was transported to Detention.
The 34-year-old man is facing three charges of assaulting a Police Officer. (Court Info # 991130352)
