A 25 year old Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges following a report of a break and enter and vehicle theft overnight.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., June 14, 2020, Police received a report that a break in had occurred at a residence on Avenue E North. The complainant watched as her Acrua RDX was stolen and driven away from the scene. On June 16, 2020, just after 2:00 a.m., a member of the Canine Unit spotted the stolen vehicle at 29th Street and Avenue P. No pursuit was initiated, however members of the Air Support Unit were able to track the vehicle from above. The vehicle was witnessed being driven at high speeds until it came to a stop in a parking lot in the 3800 block of Fairlight Drive. The ASU witnessed a male suspect walk away from the vehicle and drop an item. The male was arrested a block away and the item was found to be bear spray.
The 25 year old man is facing charges of Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property, Theft of Vehicle, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace and Breach of Probation (x2).
