Saskatoon Police arrested a man last night in connection to drug trafficking and an Evade Police incident.
At approximately 11:00 p.m., July 19, 2020, a Canine Unit observed a suspicious black BMW car at Avenue T North and 29th Street West. A traffic stop was attempted but the driver refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Patrol fficers successfully deployed a tire deflation device and the suspect vehicle was located abandoned at Witney Avenue and 20th Street West. Inside of the vehicle, Police located firearm magazines, ammunition and multiple cell phones along with amounts of heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine and shatter.
As they were searching the area for the suspect, Patrol members were approached by an individual who stated that an unknown male had just entered their home in the 100 block of Vancouver Avenue South. The male suspect was located inside, attempting to hide from Police and arrested without incident.
A 33 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Evading Police, Dangerous Driving, Break and Enter, Breach of Release and six weapon-related offences. He is also charged with Possession of Heroin for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Unlawful Possession of Illicit Cannabis.
