Saskatoon Police arrested a man yesterday in connection to an assault involving bear spray.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., July 19, 2020, Patrol members responded to a reported assault at 20th Street West and Avenue G South. Three people had reportedly been approached by an unknown male. A brief conversation took place prior to the male deploying bear spray at the individuals and fleeing on foot. Witnesses provided Police with the suspect description and direction of travel. The male suspect was located attempting to hide beneath the deck of a home in the 300 block of Avenue G South. He was found in possession of bear spray, methamphetamine and multiple cell phones.

A 20 year old Saskatoon man is charged with Assault with a Weapon (x3), Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine, Breach of Release and Breach of Probation.
