Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section have arrested and charged three adults in relation to yesterday's homicide. Two men, ages 23 and 24, and an 18-year-old woman, have all been charged with Second Degree Murder.
On July 29, 2020, shortly after midnight, patrol officers responded to the area of 20th Street and Avenue U South for a report of gun shots and a vehicle leaving the area. When Police arrived, officers were unable to locate the vehicle or any injured persons.
At 2:30 a.m. Police were notified of an injured male in the 300 block of Avenue U South suffering from what is believed to have been a gunshot wound. This male was declared deceased at scene. Patrol officers during this same time were able to locate the suspect vehicle resulting in the arrest of three persons. The continued investigation by the Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Section resulted in charges of Second Degree Murder.
All three are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court this morning. (Court Information # 991135128)

Saskatoon Police responded this morning at 2:30 a.m., July 29, 2020, to an injured person in the 300 block of Avenue U South. Emergency responders attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful. Members of the SPS Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Section were called out and have now ruled this as a homicide investigation. The victim is a 21 year old male. Any further details on the victim will not be released at this time. This is the city’s seventh homicide of the year.
An autopsy has been ordered by the Office of the Chief Coroner and the investigation continues.
