A 34 year old man is in custody following what began as a request to assist in locating a male wanted by the Saskatchewan RCMP.
The SPS received the call for assistance at approximately 12:50 p.m., July 30, 2020. It was thought the man may be traveling into Saskatoon following an incident in Dundurn, Saskatchewan in which a shot had been fired. SPS Patrol was able to locate and attend to an address in the 200 block of Sherry Crescent, where it was beleived the male may be inside. It was determined that adults and children were present in the home. Members of the Tactical Support Unit (TSU) deployed in the Armoured Rescue Vehicle (ARV) as a precaution due to the possibility of firearms being present. When a female exited the home but the male did not, members of the Crisis Negotiating Team (CNT) were able to make contact with him. A safe exit was negotiated at 3:04 p.m. Three children were located inside the home. No one was injured during the incident.
Charges are pending.
