As we enter the August long-weekend, and the Province is now in Phase Four of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan, the Saskatoon Police Service wants to remind the public about its service levels and response to calls regarding violations of Public Health Orders.
More than 600 complaints have been received by the SPS since the restrictions went into place. No tickets have been issued to date thanks to immediate compliance upon Police arrival.
Though we have reopened some services, such as Criminal Record Checks and the Service Centre, the SPS is continuing with enhanced safety measures for all staff. This includes dispatching officers to calls for service that are considered priority three or higher. Calls that are lower in priority may be dealt with by an officer in the Telephone Reporting Unit, referral to online reporting, or for callback. In addition, Communications call takers will continue to ask additional screening questions when receiving calls for service.

The SPS wishes you a safe and healthy long weekend.
